The New America
Inspired by my grandmothers plate collection, souvenir plates that were brought to her from the travels of her children and grandchildren. A collection of plates from all over the U.S., from state capitals, summer tourist destinations or favorite vacation spots, the collection was a glimpse of what America was like in the 50´s and 60´s.
Fast forward to 2017 - the souvenir plates have become a metaphor for thoughts and vision of America today
